Objectives of the CSRD
The directive aims to foster sustainable development in companies and identify those that are disciplined in this area. The information gathered will ultimately enable better assessment of the impact of the company and its activities on the environment.
The text follows on from the 2014 directive on the disclosure of non-financial information, and has the overall aim of harmonizing non-financial reporting of European companies.
What information has to be provided?
Non-financial reporting covers the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) data. This data is composed of:
- environmental factors: including climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity, and resource use;
- social factors: including equal opportunity, working conditions, and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms;
- governance factors: including the role of administrative bodies, lobbying activities, and management of relations with business partners.
The information provided by the company must be certified by a statutory auditor or an accredited independent third-party organization.
Progressive application
The European CSRD is applied in 3 stages,
with a different date of entry into force depending on the profile of the company:

The Digital Eco-Calculator enables precise measurement of the CO2 emissions avoided after implementation of the DQE One solution. To comply with current environmental regulations, the results obtained in terms of CO2 emissions avoided are presented in the form of a carbon certificate, providing a reference document in the event of a CSR or non-financial audit.
